First of all, I would like to congratulate Microsoft for finally erupted a good OS. I really like the UI better than 8.1. Its more interactable with touch and improved readability and personalization. The speed and response of the UI also seem improved.
I enjoy my experience using windows 10 in this couple of days. Most of the programs and Application that runs on previous version of windows are able to run here. Its already a usable Operating System i must say.
But, I think I have to switch back to 8.1 at the momment. I'm not ready using it for my development environment. If only for daily usage, I would recommend it to my associates. (and I already did). But theres just a bit more to be done at MS to be able to be use as development environment.
Well, here is some idea and suggestion and perhaps problems I have found these past few days:
1. The Start menu.
Its a great improvement, but, I don't see my application shortcut immediately when I open start. I think it would be great if I can find what I used most often in the front menu rather than have to go to "all apps" and scroll.
I don't know, but I think theres a glitch that sometimes when I want to open all apps, it lagged alot. I mean, how much resource does a main interface like start menu have to take to make it so slow to respond sometimes. Perhaps, make it simple or give a guide on how to simplify it according to custom experience.
2. Task Switcher
For me, its a striking shock to see the switcher the first time. Its cool, I got to say. But, it didn't take long till I lost my appetite. The great display and animation it presents don't have any function than just 'click to switch and click to close'.
You guys have paired it with the side lock that when you lock an app to the side it automatically display switcher to that other side thats empty thats great. but, why don't you add the functionality to drag and drop so that when in full mode, when I open switcher and drag an item to a side of the screen it will automatically 'sided' that app and the last app thats open will be on the other side. Thats just a suggestion. I think it will be great.
3. Cortana
I can't really use this feature alot. First, I'm a native Indonesian, it would be great if Cortana understand Indonesian. although I know English, but how much your customer in Indonesia? I think it would boost your sales if it can learn Indonesian.
Secondly, I used to work in quiet crowded environment, it cant understand my voice with all the noise. but i think its a good feature.
4. Spartan/ Edge
The only reason that make me still use Chrome untill now is that Edge lack the ability to respond to touch. I like to use the swipe feature on chrome that when i swipe the page to the right it will take me back to the last page i visited and then when i swipe to the left again it takes me forward.
yeah, that simple reason. the other feature is quiet awesoome, but I still havent really needed it. You might be adding page capturing feature perhaps.
5. Stability.
I can say its stable enough that almost no crash or whatsoever. It just don't work with vagrant verywell. Not work with Virtualbox. And when I shutdown, It keeps sayiing theres a memory exception at 0x00000000000 or something.
I think thats it for now. I'm going back to 8.1 for the moment. But, I am really looking forward for Win 10 Launching coz in my opinion, it is better than 8.1. Great job.
